PSSC Travel Assistance Program (PSSC-TAP)
The PSSC Travel Assistance Program (PSSC-TAP) provides supplementary financial assistance to Filipino social scientists to prepare and present papers in social scientific conferences abroad and participate in such international gatherings. A maximum of P25,000 is available for paper presenters to help defray their travel, accommodation and/or registration costs. The grant is drawn from PSSC’s Regional and International Linkages budget.

- Travel grant applications are reviewed on a “first-come, first-served” basis.
- Travel grant applications must be received by the PSSC Secretariat at least two months before the date of the conference.
- The grant is limited to one slot per PSSC member-organization if it is for participation or attendance in the same conference.
- The applicant should indicate in the application form other support to be received from other institutions (e.g., conference organizer, the applicant’s association and institution/university).
- PSSC will release the grant to the successful applicant only upon submission of a copy of the academic/conference paper to be presented, acceptance as paper presenter and proof of conference participation. Proof may be in the form of an airline ticket or payment of registration fee.
- Upon return, grantees are required to submit to PSSC a photo-documentation of his/her participation in the conference.
- Travel grantees must duly acknowledge the support of PSSC during the presentation or when the paper gets published..
- Travel grantees who have enjoyed a PSSC-TAP grant are not eligible to apply for another PSSC-TAP grant in the next three years following their last availment of the grant.
- If requested, travel grantees must present their academic papers in a public lecture, forum or conference organized by the PSSC.

ELIGIBILITY
To qualify for a PSSC travel grant, an applicant must:
- be a member of any one of PSSC’s regular or associate member-organizations;
- not have enjoyed a PSSC travel grant in the past three years;
APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Applicants must submit the following documents at least two months before the date of the conference:
- Accomplished Travel Assistance Program application form;
- A copy of his/her invitation to the conference;
- An abstract of the academic paper to be presented;
- A letter of recommendation from the head of the applicant’s organization which should be a member of PSSC;
- Grant letter/certificate from other funding institutions;
- Authority to travel from applicant’s current institution; and
- A 3-5 page CV/bio-data including a list of his/her publications and conferences he/she attended in the last five years.
