CHED Summer Research Training

Dates of Implementation/Duration:  May 24 to June 8, 2010

Objectives: The three-week training workshop aims to enhance the capacity of CHED technical staff to conduct relevant research using CHED’s own data and records, and to help as well those in graduate school to finish their theses/dissertations. It will be attended by 36 personnel of CHED.

Project Description:

Twenty-seven members of the staff of the Commission on Higher Education (CEHD) attended the Summer Research Training Program that the Philippine Social Science Council (PSSC) conducted for the Commission. The Training Program opened with an orientation-cum-training needs assessment on 17 May 2010 and resumed on 24 May and continuing through 8 June 2010. The training combined lecture-discussions and individual mentoring sessions for the purpose of engendering among participants renewed interest/appreciation of social research approaches/methodologies, and assisting them develop a research project proposal related to their own work or specific tasks and responsibilities at CHED.
