Objectives:
To assess the state of social sciences in the country.
Project Description:
The project entailed the preparation of assessment papers on the progress made by the social sciences in cultivating a competent pool of Filipino social scientists, examining particularly their capacity to produce and propagate knowledge as well as handle 21st century challenges. The project resulted in the publication entitled Philippine Social Sciences: Capacities, Directions, and Challenges which features discipline-specific papers contributed by social scientists from the disciplines of communication, economics, geography, history, linguistics, political science, public administration, psychology, sociology, and statistics.
