History Writing Workshop 2021
Call for Participants
The Philippine Historical Association (PHA) invites all its members, historians, history researchers, teachers, and graduate students to submit original and unpublished papers with focus on local history to the Linang Kasaysayan: History Writing Workshop 2021. The accepted applicants will receive a continuing mentorship program from a partner professional historian. The revised works of the participants will also be reviewed and will likewise be included in a publication of Philippine Historical Association.
The workshop is designed for a maximum of 10 participant-researchers in local history, aged 40 years old and below, who have an original research project completed not more than two years ago, and have drafted a manuscript of 6,000 – 9,000 words, formatted for submission to Linang Kasaysayan committee. Manuscript submitted should be original and should not be part of any pending publication nor was published previously. Manuscripts may either be in English or Filipino. All submissions must conform to the Chicago Manual of Style/Turabian Citation Guide. A screening committee will review the paper submissions. The committee will select the best papers appropriate for the program.
The decision of the committee is final. Kindly submit the following requirements:
- Letter of application addressed to PHA President
- Updated curriculum vitae (with recent picture)
- Draft original manuscript on local history (with abstract)
- Statement of authorship
